The Church had scattered from Jerusalem. Stephen had been put to death. Saul was dragging off men and women to prison for their faith in the Messiah. It seemed like a dark time for the Church of Christ. The early believers in Acts were about to learn that the blood of the martyrs is the seed of the Church.
